About the Scheme

This scheme primarily seeks to gather profiles of current international students at Oxford and to place these profiles online

The OUSU International Students' Campaign seeks to represent the interests of the university's c.6500 students.  This year, we are pioneering an International Access Scheme, which seeks to encourage applications from under-represented countries, such as Brunei, Cameroon and Lithuania, to name just three examples.

The premise of this scheme is that many intelligent candidates are put-off applying to Oxford because they know few others from their home country who have succeeded in doing so.  This scheme therefore seeks to gather profiles of current international students at Oxford and to place these profiles online.  By connecting potential applicants with current Oxford students, this informational initiative should help extend access internationally.

We have in mind short write-ups by students about their experiences in Oxford, the application process from their home country, and perhaps a contact email address.  Please email shang.liew@merton.ox.ac.uk to help out; an answer template has been prepared for you, and it should not take long to complete.  We have already received several responses, and we are excited about the potential of this scheme

We think a few minutes of your time will go a long way; email shang.liew@merton.ox.ac.uk to help out.  Thank you very much.
