International Careers Event
International Careers Event 2009
Wednesday 11th March, 2-5pm, St Antony's College
The International Careers Event is aimed at students who are interested in working internationally, or international students seeking employment opportunities back home. Students will have the chance to hear from a diverse range of employers, alumni and experts who have international careers and deal with international issues. Members of the Careers Service, OUSU and the International Student Advisory Service will also be on hand to provide advice on visas, international job-seeking strategies and further study abroad.
The event is being held at the Hilde Basse Building, St Antony's College between 2-5pm, Wednesday 11th March, followed by a drinks reception opened by Oxford University Director of International Strategy Dr Heather Bell, with further opportunity to speak informally with employers and experts. Careers Event, May 2008
OUSU's International Students Campaign and the University Careers Service jointly organised an event targeted at international undergraduates and graduates who were considering working in the UK following graduation. The panel discussed both the opportunities for working here upon graduation and the procedures involved, including the points-based system that is being implemented by the UK Border Agency.
Speakers included Laura Devine, a highly experienced immigration lawyer, Tracey Wells, Assistant Director of the Careers Service and two recent graduates from Oxford who wanted to share their personal experiences. The event was held on 1st May 2008 at the Centenary Room, Careers Service, Banbury Roadcompletely and it was FREE.
