The Oxford Pakistan Society is comprised of a versatile and multi-faceted group of students and former students brought together by a shared love for Pakistan. The Society believes firmly in the importance of promoting, preserving and celebrating Pakistan's gloriously rich cultural life, seeking to give as many people as possible a taste of all it has to offer to the world. Equally, it encourages Pakistanis new to the UK to meet others in a similar position, enabling a mutual enrichment through exchanged experience. As such the society serves as a meeting-point between Pakistan and the UK, and the Pakistani community.

Russian Society, Oxford University

The Society currently has more than 300 members, around 50 of whom are from Russia or other former Soviet states, the rest being from Britain, the United States, Germany, France and other European countries. The majority of members are undergraduate students, though many are scholars studying the social, economic and political transition of the countries of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, as well as more traditional aspects of Russian culture. The society arranges frequent cultural events and talks by well-known and influential figures.

Salsa Society, Oxford University

The Salsa Society runs regular salsa lessons at all levels on Mondays. Classes take place at Somerville, and are an excellent way to learn to dance, meet new people, and get away from all those essay deadlines! If you thought that classes were all it did, check out the Oxford University Salsa Team and prepare to be amazed! The team performs at balls, charity shows, nightclubs and all kinds of events throughout Oxford.

The Society offers its members a great social network of people connected to or interested in Scandinavia in one way or another. It arranges social events throughout the academic year, ranging from presentations to film night, parties and dinners. It makes a particular effort to celebrate traditional Scandinavian festivals.

Slovenian Society, Oxford University

The Society was established in February 2006 with the following being some of its aims: to promote Slovene culture and spread awareness of the country of Slovenia amongst both the members of the University as well as the general public; to organise social and cultural events, such as concerts with music by Slovene composers, evenings with Slovene literates, debates and occasional drinks for all its members; to become the focus of social life for students from Slovenia, where experiences regarding university life and what follows graduation, particularly on returning home, can be shared.

Yugoslav republics (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia,
Montenegro and Macedonia) and for those who share an interest in these
countries. We are affiliated with the University of Oxford, UK. Our
society is non-political and our events focus on culture, music and
food.
