Positions and their descriptions

The Part Time Exec meet every week with the sabbatical officers at meetings of the OUSU Executive where student concerns are raised and solutions discussed. A part time Exec officer will also work with a particular sabbatical officer, relevant to their position, on their initiatives.
A part time Exec position is really what you make it but there are few things you'll expected to do.
Academic Affairs Campaign Officer
- Support, alongside the VP (Access and Academic Affairs), Common Room Academic Affairs fficers, JCC reps, Divisional Board Reps and Library Consultative Committee Reps, by ensuring that lists of people in these positions are kept and any relevant information is sent to them.
- Maintain information for the above representative positions on the OUSU web-site.
- Work with the College Inequality Campaign
- Provide administrative, campaigning and other support to the Academic Affairs committee.

Access and Admissions Officer
- Help to organise Target Schools regional conferences, open days and other events organised by the scheme.
- Attend open days, alongside the regional conferences for which it is financially viable for them to attend.
- Work with the VP (Access and Academic Affairs) in sourcing information for the Alternative Prospectus, including keeping the relevant pages on the web-site updated in years between print runs.
- Provide information and support to common room officers responsible for access and admissions.
- Maintain a section on the web-site which details all the ways to get involved in access
initiatives across the University
- Provide administrative, campaigning and other support to the Target Schools co-chairs, including minuting meetings.

Black and Minority Ethnic Students and Anti-Racism Officer
- Represent the interests of Black and Minority Ethnic Students to the OUSU Executive and University.
- Lobby for the interests of Black and Minority Ethnic Students in all areas of the student experience including (but not limited to) access, academic affairs and welfare.
- Support the OUSU Racial, Ethnic and Religious Equality Campaign in their work.
- Liaise with BME and Anti-Racist student societies and groups within the University.
- Support Common Room Ethnic Minorities Representatives (or equivalent) in their work and arrange regular meetings between them.

Community Outreach and Charities Officer
- Help build links between the Student Union and the wider community.
- Work with the Vice-President (Charities and Community) to organise the Beyond Profit Careers Fair
- Work with the Vice-President (Charities and Community) and the RAG executive committee on the organisation of RAG events.
- Provide administrative, campaigning and other support to the RAG executive committee.
- Provide administrative, campaigning and other support to the Community committee.

Common Room Liason Officer
- Maintain the central database of common room officers.
- Convene meetings of OUSU Reps committee.
- Create resources for common room officers as their needs dictate; publish these resources on the OUSU web-site, updating when necessary.
- Provide information to common room OUSU Reps and support their involvement in OUSU.
- Help the President with publicity, including sending out Student Union News emails.

Environment and Ethics Officer
- Work with the Environment and Ethics committee and VP (Charities and Community), to produce College Green League table
- Attend the Universities Environmental Panel with the VP Charities and Communities
- Provide administrative, campaigning and other support to the Socially Responsible Investment campaign.
- Provide administrative, campaigning and other support to the Environment and Ethics Committee.

Graduate Academic Affairs Officer
- Represent graduate students on the following University committees: ICT committee, Committee for the Management of the Careers Service and Committee for the Management of the Modern Languages Centre.
- Attend meetings of Post-Graduate Assembly and keep the Assembly informed of their work.
- Further the involvement of graduate students in OUSU, through common room outreach and other activities.
- Provide administrative, campaigning and other support to the OUSU Graduate Academic Affairs Committee.

Graduate International Students Officer
- Provide support to graduate common room International Students Officers and to common room initiatives to support international students.
- Work with the OUSU Vice-President (Graduates) in preparing the international graduate induction procedures
- Maintain information and advice for graduate international students on the OUSU web-site.
- Liaise with the international student community to identify problems facing graduate international students and work with them to resolve them.
- Attend meetings of Post-Graduate Assembly and keep the Assembly informed of their work.
- Further the involvement of graduate students in OUSU through common room outreach and other activities.
- Provide administrative, campaigning and other support to the International Students Committee.

Health and Welfare Officer
- Work with the Vice-President (Welfare and Equal Opportunities) to develop and publish online the Rough Guide to Welfare and Eating Disorders Guide.
- Help the Vice-President (Welfare and Equal Opportunities) to further the health and welfare interests of students i in accordance with OUSU policy and Council mandates.
- Provide administrative, campaigning and other support to the Health and Welfare Committee.

International student officer
- Support Junior Common Room International Student Officers and Common Room initiatives for international students
- Work with the OUSU President to assess applications for the Oxford Student Scholarship scheme.
- Maintain information and advice for international students on the OUSU web-site.
- Liaise with the international student community to identify problems and work with them to resolve them.
- Provide administrative, campaigning and other aid to the International Students Committee.

LGBTQ Officer
- Represent the interests of LGBT Students to the OUSU Executive and the University.
- Lobby for the interests of LGBT Students in all areas of the student experience including (but not limited to) access, academic affairs and welfare.
- Work with the University Diversity and Equal Opportunities Unit.
- Work with LGBT groups and networks within the University.
- Support Common Room LGBT Officers and arrange meetings to exchange best practice and support them in their work.
- To be a member of the OUSU Equal Opportunities Executive and attend meetings.

Mature Students Officer
- Represent the interests of Mature Students to the OUSU Executive and University.
- Lobby for the interests of Mature Students in all areas of the student experience including (but not limited to) access, academic affairs and welfare.
- Support the OUSU Mature Students Campaign in their work.
- Support Common Room Officers with responsibility for mature students in their work and arrange regular meetings between them and raise awareness of mature students issues in JCRs.

Rent and Accomadation Officer
- Maintain and regularly update a database of current rents for all Oxford colleges
- Produce, with the help of the President, the 'Rent Support Pack' in Michaelmas term
- Help the Vice-President (Welfare and Equal Opportunities) to produce the Living Out Guide and convene housing advice surgeries.
- Work with the College Inequality Campaign
- Maintain information and advice on rent and accommodation on the OUSU web-site

Students with Disabilities Officer
- Represent the interests of Students with Disabilities to the OUSU Executive and University.
- Lobby for the interests of Students with Disabilities in all areas of the student experience including (but not limited to) access, academic affairs and welfare.
- Liaise with the University Disability Office on a regular basis.
- Support the OUSU Students with Disabilities Campaign in their work.
- Support Common Room Students’ With Disabilities Officers (or equivalent) in their work and arrange regular meetings between them.

Women's Campaign Officer
- Work with the VP (Women) to produce and put online the following publications: Guide to Unplanned Pregnancy, Promoting Choice information, Eating Disorder Guide and the Student Parents Guide.
- Help the Vice-President (Women) to further the interests of women in OUSU, the Colleges and the University in accordance with OUSU policy and Council mandates.
- Provide administrative, campaigning and other support to the Women's Campaign, Promoting Choice campaign and Student Parents Committee.
