1.MEET AND GREET SCHEME FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The University is organising a meet and greet scheme for international
students arriving this Autumn at Heathrow Airport and Gloucester Green Bus
Station. If you are interested in helping for a morning or afternoon shift
to meet and welcome new international students please do contact us for
further details. The dates will be at the end of September(Saturday 27th,
Sunday 28th, and Monday 29th)/early October(Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th).
Student helpers will receive shopping vouchers and other free merchandise
and travel costs and lunch will be provided.

There will also be a summer garden party to launch this new venture which
is important in making sure new international students feel welcome and to
relieve some of the pressure experienced when arriving in a new country
and city.

We have posters of this event posted in variouse colleges, and we have a
facebook group(Meet and Greet new Oxford International Students).

2.CHARITABLE CELEBRATION: AN ALTERNATIVE TO TRASHING!!

Don't waste loads of money on stuff to throw at your friends after their
exams!

Hertford college Porters' lodge! ALL PROCEEDS GO TO CHARITY
Guaranteed more convenient and cheaper than the party shops,
and you won't get in trouble for throwing stuff in the street!

Note: Helium-filled balloons are only available in the 45 minutes preceding
the end of major exams, ie 11:45 to 12:30 tuesday 7th week,  11:45 -12:30
and 4:45 -5:30 saturday of 7th and 11:45-12:30 saturday of 8th.  You can get
all other items including non-helium balloons, around the clock.
