Professor Judith Okely is the deputy director of the International Gender Studies Centre, and specialises in feminist theory and analyses of gender from a cross-cultural perspective.
In her talk she will draw on cross cultural debates from Africa, the Australian Aboriginees, English Traveller Gypsies, the theories of de Beauvoir and her own experience of being an undergraduate in Oxford in the 6os.
This event is hosted by the Women's Campaign and the OU- United Nations Association, and the topic is one which deserves great analysis - do come along and join the debate.
