Compalints

OUSU takes complaints from members seriously and will endeavour to deal with complaints quickly. There are three bodies to which complaints may be addressed, depending against whom the complaint is made.

Complaints Committee

Complaints about elected OUSU officials excluding the Returning Officer are dealt with by the OUSU Complaints Committee. Complaints Committee is elected in Michalemas term and members serve for one year.

 Standing Committee

Complaints about the non-elected staff of OUSU are to be made to standing committee. Standing Committee consists of the President, Vice President (Welfare and Equal Opportunites) and General Manager ex officio and three members of the OUSU executive, elected by the executive. Members serve until the end of their term of office/employment.

Junior Tribunal

Complaints about the Returning Officer are to be made to the Junior Tribunal. Junior Tribunal is convened in advance of every election and may consist of former Returnig Officers, Deputy Returning Officers, Chairs of Council or Sabbatical Officers who have ceased to be a member of OUSU for more than two years.
