Postgraduate Assembly (PGA)

Find out about how postgraduates can easily get involved with the student union - this term on Tuesday 29th January at 6pm in the University Club

Chaired by OUSU's VP Graduates, Ingrid Frater, PGA is an assembly open to all postgraduate students. Any postgrad can propose a motion to be passed at the assembly about any aspect of postgraduate life - academic affairs, access, welfare, environmental concerns, charities etc etc. If these motions are passed, they then go to be ratified by OUSU Council. We also hold elections for OUSU's part-time exec. There are currently two vacancies - Graduate Welfare Officer and Graduate Women's Officer. If you're thinking of proposing a motion or running for election then do get in touch with Ingrid for more information. This PGA we'll also be hearing from the Student Funding Manager about graduate funding and what's coming up this year.

PGA is relatively informal and relaxed. All postgraduate students are very welcome and are all able to vote, so do come along. PGA takes place once a term, on Tuesday of third week, at 6pm in the University Club.

To propose a motion, you need to write it and send it to Maria Burgess, our General Manager, on maria@ousu.org. The deadline for motions is Tuesday of second week at 12pm. Any queries, contact Maria or Ingrid. Examples of how to structure a motion can be found in PGA agendas or in OUSU Council agendas (just replace Council with Assembly).
