Are you interested in improving international student life at Oxford? Do you want to develop your leadership and teamwork skills, and improve your CV? Run for an open position on the International Students' Campaign Committee and YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

What is the International Students' Campaign?


It is an autonomous campaign within the Oxford University Student Union. It is run BY STUDENTS FOR STUDENTS, and exists to represent and improve the welfare of the over 6,500 international students from 139 different countries at the University of Oxford. The Campaign is behind a number of exciting projects, including the forthcoming International Students' Handbook and the inaugural Oxford International Festival in 7th week of Hilary (visit http://www.oxfordinternationalfestival.org).

What positions are available on the Campaign Committee?

There are 7 open positions. Below you will find a list, along with the name and email address of the person(s) currently holding each position. To find out more about what each position involves, you can either email the person or read the full job description in our Constitution (one level up).

Co-Chairs

Chair meetings, coordinate all Campaign activities, and represent the Campaign within and outside the University of Oxford.

Treasurer
Kiril.Dimitrov@stcatz.ox.ac.uk
Produces the Campaign’s budget, maintains accounts, and spearheads fundraising activities.

Membership Secretary
Nathalie.Hanley@st-annes.ox.ac.uk
Maintains the membership list, publicizes and minutes meetings, and compiles term reports.

Social Secretary
Kaushal.Vidyarthee@wolfson.ox.ac.uk
Organizes social events.

Welfare Officer
Sanjay.Nanwani@spc.ox.ac.uk
Organizes welfare events, distributes information, and works with the Campaigns Officers to raise awareness of issues affecting international students across the University.

Campaigns Officers
Heather.Kincaide@sant.ox.ac.uk and Samuel.Pape@spc.ox.ac.uk
Attend OUSU Councils, draft motions for the Campaign and work with International/Overseas Reps in various colleges.

Publicity Officer
Charlotte.Yan@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk
Designs and distributes publicity, maintains the Campaign’s website and moderates the Campaign’s group on Facebook and other social networking sites.

How do I run for a position?

You can nominate yourself by simply emailing your name, your college and the position for which you want to run, to internationalstudents@ousu.org by Friday, February 15th. Hustings will take place during one of the Campaign's open meetings in 6th week, with balloting in 7th week.

Do I have to be an international student to run for a position?

The answer is NO - as long as you feel 'international', you are international. All current students are eligible to run.
