University Support and Childcare Provisions

University Financial Support
Some help is available from the University for meeting the costs of childcare. Home students must apply through the Access to Learning Funds. EU and Overseas students can apply for emergency short-term assistance from the Childcare Relief Fund. For more information see http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/eop/child/fund.shtml . University Childcare Provisions
St Anne’s, Wolfson, Balliol and Somerville have their own nurseries. See the college websites for further information. The University Nurseries cater for children from four months until school admission age. The University also has a playscheme (during holidays) which is suitable for 5-12 year-old children and a network of Quality Assured Childminders. Oxford University Newcomers' Club
Welcomes the wives, husbands and partners of visiting scholars, graduate students and newly appointed academic members of the University. They offer help, advice and information and the opportunity to meet others socially. Informal coffee mornings are held in the Club. Newcomers with children (O-4) meet weekly.

Student Parents' Maillist
The student parent maillist exists as a forum for discussion amongst student parents at Oxford University. To join the maillist please contact women@ousu.org.
OUSU Student Parents' Committee
This Committee exists within the OUSU structures to enable student parents to address the issues affecting them and have these represented to the University. The Committee is in the process of restarting - if you would like to be involved, please contact women@ousu.org.
The OUSU Vice President (Women) runs a termly event for student parents and is available to provide individual support to student parents. She also edits and publishes the OUSU Student Parent Handbook, for more information, or to request a copy of the handbook, contact women@ousu.org.

OXPIP - The Oxford Parent Infant Project

OXPIP provides one to one therapeutic support and group therapy work for parents and their new born babies. This unique service is not provided by any other agency or organisation in Oxfordshire
